Join us for the first webinar of the Neuroservices-Alliance sponsored “Innovation Webinar Series”: “Webinar – Electrophysiological ex vivo assays for compound testing in acute human brain cortical slices.”.

ex vivo acute human brain slices display ideal conditions for the exploration of compound activity on native human neurons & neuronal networks. This presentation will introduce electrophysiological recordings in acute cortical slices prepared from surgical resections from human patients. Beyond methodological aspects, we will share a snapshot of our database of membrane and firing properties from various neuronal types from cortical and hippocampal subregions. Finally, we will showcase a patch-clamp assay for intrinsic excitability and a dataset of the Kv7 channel activator retigabine as a reference compound.

About the speaker
Julien Artinian is a patch-clamp electrophysiologist with over 12 years of experience in cellular neuroscience research in charge of developing the platform for human brain samples at Neuroservice. He obtained his PhD in Marseille, France where he explored synaptic alterations in animal models of temporal lobe epilepsy. He completed a 5 year postdoctoral training in Montreal, QC, Canada to investigate the role of synaptic plasticity in inhibitory interneurons in learning and memory cellular processes.
