Safety & Toxicology Profiling
NEUROSERVICE provides an innovative screening platform utilizing electrophysiological slice recordings to detect the pro-convulsive properties of compounds and to investigate their acute or chronic toxicity on basal synaptic transmission/plasticity.
Slices for chronic toxicity studies are prepared from vehicle-treated and compound-treated animals.
The recordings are performed in acute brain slices from rodents (mice or rats) with the Multi-Electrode Array (MEA) technique.
This innovative in vitro recording approach provides a very precise response and a more rapid turnaround than the IRWIN battery.
